Elon Musk says no more layoffs at Twitter, gets ready to hire for these roles – Times of India
No more layoffs expected at Twitter
According to a report by The Verge, the Twitter CEO said that the the company will not be laying off any more employees. This comes days after hundreds of employees chose to resign rather than accept Musk’s ultimatum. In an email sent last week, Musk made it very clear to employees that they will have to go “extremely hardcore” and be prepared to spend long working hours. He asked them to accept the terms or leave the company and many chose to do the latter.
In the recent hands-on meeting, Musk said that the company is now looking to hire more people for engineering and sales roles. The report by The Verge says that employees were “encouraged to make referrals.”
“In terms of critical hires, I would say people who are great at writing software are the highest priority,” Musk reportedly said in the meeting.
During the meeting, Musk was also asked whether there were plans to shift Twitter’ base headquarters from San Francisco to Texas. For the uninitiated, Musk moved his other companies — Tesla and SpaceX — to Texas from the California Bay Area. He said that there are no plans to move out of San Francisco but added that it could make sense to be “dual-headquartered” in California and Texas.
Musk also told employees that his reorganisation plans will stabilise over time but might have a “lot of mistakes.”
