Elon Musk’s ‘take it or leave it’ offer to all Twitter employees: All the details – Times of India

Twitter employees got a rather jolt at midnight as they received an email from their new boss and Twitter owner Elon Musk. According to a report by The Washington Post, in the email all the employees were asked to sign a pledge if they want to remain with the company.
The report says that the email had an online form, which preceded with a message, “If you are sure that you want to be part of the new Twitter, please click yes on the link below,” read the email to all staff, which linked to an online form. If any employee doesn’t sign the pledge by 5 pm (ET) then they would get three months of severance pay and would be no longer required at Twitter.

Twitter 2.0: Musk’s email

In the email, Musk warned employees that going forward Twitter “will need to be extremely hardcore”. He further warned them that employees will have to work long hours at “long intensity”. If that wasn’t enough, he further made it clear that “only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” as per the report by The Washington Post.
The email further made Musk’s stance clear on what he thinks is the way forward for Twitter. Musk, as per the report, in the email said that he wants Twitter to be engineering driven and coders will play an important role in it.
The move clearly is aimed at further reducing the workforce at Twitter and comes a week after almost 50% of Twitter staff was fired by Musk.
It has been a whirlwind of three weeks at Twitter since Musk took over. Musk does seem to have big plans for the social networking platform and his ‘pet’ project currently us Twitter Blue for which he wants everyone to pay $8 per month. The feature was rolled but immediately taken back as it created a chaos. Now, Musk has said that he is looking to roll out the feature by November 29.
