Epic Games announces Rumbleverse will shut down less than 6 months after release

Rumbleverse, a free-to-play online battle royale game, is set to shut down by the end of this month. Developer Epic Games has announced it will terminate the services for the online game on February 28, 2023.
The short notice before Rumbleverse goes offline means that the sun will set on the game just a few months after its release. The brawler battle royale is a relatively new title that came out on August 11, 2022 – less than 6 months ago. During its short run, Rumbleverse has only had two in-game ‘seasons’ – the second of which is still in progress.

On the game’s official website, a notice reads, “Live services for Rumbleverse will be turned off on Tuesday, February 28, at 10 AM CST when Season Two concludes. After this time, the game will not be playable and any purchased in-game content will no longer be accessible.”
Users who made in-game purchases will get refunds
As a relief, Rumbleverse players who spent money “on or in the game,” such as for Battle Pass or Brawlla Bills, are eligible for a refund. An FAQ explaining the refund process will soon go live on the game’s website as per the announcement.

Final update is on its way, every player to get Battle Passes and in-game bonuses
Post this announcement, a new update is also rolling out for the game. Alongside this, all players will get the Battle Pass and they will also earn double XP points for quickly unlocking tier-based bonuses. The announcement added, “Quads, Trios, Duos, and Solos will be live.” Furthermore, they have made available extra accessories and emotes to every player for free.
Developer suggests Rumbleverse may return in the future
The official announcement came accompanied by a blog post from Rumbleverse developer Iron Galaxy. For the game’s fans, the creators had to say, “It is our sincerest hope that this news does not mark the end of Rumbleverse. You may not yet have seen the Rumble in its final form. If we can welcome people back onto the deck of the battle barge again, we hope you’ll be there, laced up and ready to take your rightful place in the cannon.”
