EV Company Workhorse’s Finance, Operating Chiefs Leave in Shake-Up

Workhorse Group Inc.

said a pair of top executives have left the company in a management shake-up as the electric-vehicle maker works to get production back on track.

Workhorse, which in late July brought in a new chief executive, said its Chief Financial Officer Steve Schrader and Chief Operating Officer

Rob Willison

are no longer with the Loveland, Ohio, company.

It said Greg Ackerson, its corporate controller, would serve as interim chief financial officer while it searches for a successor to Mr. Schrader, adding that it would consider internal and external candidates. The company noted that Mr. Schrader’s departure isn’t based on any disagreement with its accounting principles or practices or financial statement disclosures.

Workhorse said it has eliminated the post of chief operating officer.

The company in late July tapped

Richard Dauch,

a former CEO of Delphi Technologies, to take the helm as it withdrew its production guidance for the year.

The company last week said it was suspending deliveries of its C-1000 electric van and recalling the 41 vans already in customers’ hands to address safety-certification issues after previously announcing plans to revise the design of the van.

The company has targeted the C-1000 cargo van for the last-mile delivery sector and sought to sell the vehicles to companies such as

United Parcel Service Inc.

and

FedEx Corp.

The company earlier in September dropped a legal challenge to the U.S. Postal Service’s award of a lucrative contract for package vans to rival

Oshkosh Corp.

Along with the departure of Messrs. Schrader and Willison, Workhorse announced that Jim Harrington, another former top Delphi executive, has joined as chief administrative officer, and that Josh Anderson, who has served stints as president of Leiten, RexRover and Desch Systems, has joined in the newly created post of chief technology officer.
