Expected specifications, features and more

After launching the ROG Phone 5s series smartphones last year globally, Asus is gearing up to launch the smartphones in India. The company has already started extending the press-briefing invite, which suggests that the company might launch the ROG Phone 5s series smartphones soon.

Though the press invite does not reveal any specific launch date for the ROG Phone 5, we can expect it to happen by the end of January or the first week of February.

ROG Phone 5s comes as an incremental update over the ROG Phone 5. The major difference and perhaps the only difference will be the updated chipset.

Although the company hasn’t revealed any information on the specifications of the device based on the global version, the ROG Phone 5s will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC.

Also, the ROG Phone 5s series includes two smartphones — the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro. The non-Pro version will be available with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Pro version only comes in 18GB + 512GB variant.

The rest of the specifications remain more or less the same as the ROG Phone 5. That means, the ROG Phone 5s will be backed by the same 6000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, it will also feature the same 6.78-inch FHD+ 144Hz Samsung-sourced AMOLED panel with support for 360Hz touch sampling rate.

In terms of camera, the ROG Phone 5s packs a triple rear camera setup comprised of a 64MP primary sensor , a 13MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP macro sensor. The smartphone also features a 24MP selfie shooter at the front.
