Multiple tech majors like Microsoft and Sony offer their gaming services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStationPlus in India. E-commerce giant Amazon offers several other services Prime Video, Amazon Pay and Amazon Music in India, which the company considers to be one of its biggest overseas markets. As the gaming scenario in India gains impetus, the company is reportedly planning to launch its Prime Gaming service in India. This PC gaming service that offers bundles of games, in-game content, Twitch subscription and more is already available in some other countries outside India. Moreover, the company’s streaming rivals like Netflix are also planning to launch their gaming services soon.
A few tweets suggest that Amazon has set up a dedicated Prime Gaming page on its Indian website which showed up in the Prime subscription section. However, if users currently click on this option, it will show an error saying “Prime Gaming is not available in your country”. This indicates that Amazon might be testing its gaming service in India before it launched officially. The dedicated banners and a teaser page on the Amazon India site might be for the service’s trial.
What is Amazon Prime Gaming
Prime Gaming is an online platform that is offered by the tech giant along with its Amazon Prime and Prime Video subscriptions. Amazon launched this PC gaming service in the US in 2016 and it is currently available across other countries including the UK, UAE and Japan.

The company also debuted its gaming service in India in 2020 which came as a part of its Prime membership and only offered bonus in-game content. However, the company is now reportedly planning to offer free PC games and exclusive content at no extra cost with Prime Gaming in India similar to the services offered in other countries.
How will it work in India
The dedicated Prime Gaming page on Amazon also mentions that users can unlock instant access to multiple exclusive content for their favourite games. Amazon’s web page has also confirmed that the collection of PC games will be refreshed every month.

The Indian version of Prime Gaming is expected to deliver a similar experience that the gaming service offers in other countries. Amazon India is yet to make an official announcement regarding an official announcement. However, the company is expected to launch the PC gaming service soon in the country.
