Although the Final Fantasy XIV free trial doesn’t give access to the Endwalker expansion, players can play the base version of A Realm Reborn and the Heavensward expansion without any time limit. Free trials will have a level cap of 60, and they can only create one character in each world. Players will also have some restrictions when it comes to trading and commerce. Along with these, free trial players cannot create a party with other free trial players unless a paid subscriber sends out an invite. However, the Final Fantasy 14 free trial will offer access to over 100 hours of story content and various side quests.
Since Square Enix has resumed sales and free trial of FFXIV, it seems like the initial influx of players and server congestion issues have reduced. This means players can now log into the game without waiting in a queue for several hours. Players with premium subscriptions are prioritized over players with free trial in login queues, which made the queues even longer and painful for free trial players. However, it seems like free trial players may not face long login queues now while playing Final Fantasy 14.
Players can try out the FFXIV free trial on PC, PS5, and PS4, when it goes live. It remains to be seen how many new players will join the Final Fantasy 14 free trial.
