First image render of Vivo NEX 5 leaked online along with tentative launch timeline
Vivo is rumoured to be working on its next NEX series smartphone. Likely to be named NEX 5, the smartphone has been slowly gaining momentum via recent leaks and rumours. Most recent leak revealed that the NEX 5 is expected to feature modern-day features like in-display fingerprint sensor, under-display camera, 50W wireless charging support and more.A new leak has surfaced on Twitter with a render that claims to be of NEX 5 smartphone. The image posted gives us the first look at the both front and rear design of the smartphone. Along with that, it also contains a February, 2022 launch timeline.
Keeping the design aside for a while, the smartphone was earlier expected to launch in the second half of 2022, which contradicts with the current timeline provided by the tipster.
In terms of design, the front of the phone appears to carry a slightly curved display panel with a center punch hold cutout for the selfie shooter. Also, the top and bottom bezel of the phone looks symmetrical.
From the back, the phone has a broad rectangular housing somewhat similar to Vivo X70 Pro+, but with a circular camera module. The camera module has a quad rear camera setup. The back also has clear branding of ZEISS and 50MP GN1 which means, the smartphone will most likely come with Samsung’s GN 1 50MP sensor with ZEISS optics. There’s also a periscope sensot which is rumoured to have a 5X optical zoom support.
For now, we recommend you to take this information with a pinch of salt as there’s no official information has arrived from Vivo’s end regarding the launch or features of the NEX 5.
