Fog of War: PUBG mobile announces new anti-cheat system – Times of India

PUBG Mobile is a free-to-play mobile game that is available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store (except in some regions, including India). The game has now made its new anti-cheat system available for all users. Fog of War, the anti-cheat software restricts cheaters from using wall hacks in the mobile version of the first-person shooter game.
This new anti-cheat system was initially available for selected groups on specific maps. During its testing phase, the software was able to reduce cheating by 50%. The developers also mentioned a 62% drop in the number of cheaters was achieved in certain regions during the rollout.
A video describing the Fog of War anti-cheat system has also been uploaded from the game’s official YouTube account. The video demonstrates how it is stopping cheaters to see through walls and other objects.

When the system catches cheaters it gives them ‘BanPan’ which blocks them from using that account and sometimes the developers also block some devices from being used in the game.

How does it work
Krafton has described how Fog of War works in a statement to EuroGamer. The game’s publisher has explained that the “advanced anti-cheat system” restricts the in-game information that is received by a player. This reduces their ability to find opponents that are “out of their field of view or through walls and objects.”
At first, the Fog of War system scans all the buildings and terrains available on PUBG Mobile’s maps. Then, the system determines what the player should see using internal calculations. This allows them to send the specific information from the server back to the player. Thus, this system puts a stop to “x-ray vision cheaters” by restricting all the non-visible information.
The latest BanPan report
BanPan is an initiative to get rid of cheaters from the game. PUBG Mobile has also shared its latest BanPan reports on its official Twitter account.

The game was successful in permanently suspending more than 400,000 accounts and over 6,500 devices on the anti-cheat software’s 37th week between September 16 and September 22.

Moreover, PUBG Mobile was also successful in removing more than 2,000 online cheat ads that had over 28 million followers and views.
These efforts of removing cheaters are not only offering genuine players an improved gaming experience but this initiative is also getting appreciated by several players.
