Samsung has introduced local Indian folk and tribal art, including Madhubani art from Bihar, to its lifestyle television The Frame. The Frame is a TV when it’s on and Art when it’s off. The local Indian folk and tribal art will be available on The Frame TV art store, which hosts over 1,400 artworks.
Madhubani art, traditionally done on freshly plastered mud walls and floors of huts, is a style of Indian painting practiced in Bihar. Characterized by its eye-catching geometrical patterns, these paintings usually capture occasions such as birth or marriage, and festivals.
Apart from Madhubani paintings from the remote village of Jitwarpur in Bihar, The Frame TV’s art store also offers folk artworks from across India – such as Kalighat Paintings from Bengal; Cheriyal Scroll Paintings of Telangana; Patachitra Paintings of Odisha and Bengal; Bhil art works from Madhya Pradesh; Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan; Baiga art works from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh; Warli Paintings of Maharashtra; Kerala Mural Paintings; Phad Paintings from Rajasthan; Gond art works from Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha respectively.
The Frame TV series comes with Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology, powerful Quantum Processor 4K, 4K AI up scaling capabilities, and SpaceFit Sound that auto-optimises sound settings after analysing the environment of your room.
