Frontier’s Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters Announced | Digit
A new turn-based tactical RPG set in the world of Warhammer 40,000 has been announced by Frontier. The turn-based RPG will feature the mysterious Grey Knights, a chapter of Space Marines that were created to serve as humanity’s greatest weapon against the forces of Chaos. The new game will follow Grey Knights as they battle against a galaxy-wide plot to infect worlds with a cosmic plague. The narrative of the game is written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden, an acclaimed Warhammer novelist whose work includes The Emperor’s Gift, which stars the Grey Knights as well.
The Grey Knights are one of the more documented Space Marine chapters and they are tasked with battling the daemons of Chaos. While individual Space Marines are powerful, the Grey Knights are a league above; each Grey Knight is created using the gene-seed of the Emperor of Mankind himself and each has psionic abilities. They’re also a secret group with basically no one outside of the Inquisition aware of their existence.
Games Workshop has announced a lot of new updates and titles as part of its Warhammer: Skulls announcement event. Famed comics writer and novelist Dan Abnett is hired to write the narrative for Warhammer: 40,000 Darktide. In addition to all this, Games Workshop also revealed Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef, a 2D action platformer that will be released next year.
Frontier is well known for their work on the Elite Dangerous series as well as games like Jurassic World Evolution, Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster. Frontier is partnering with Complex Games, who is developing the game. Frontier is also working on a Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Real Time Strategy title that is currently in development.
Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters will be released some time in 2022 and it will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
