galaxy buds: Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Buds may feature fitness tracking – Times of India
Samsung is reportedly working on new Samsung Galaxy Buds with fitness tracking. As spotted by LetsGoDigital, Samsung has earned a patent for earbuds that can monitor heart rate and blood oxygen level. The report suggests that the earbuds will likely be launched by the company in August next year. It further suggests that the product will be called the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live 2.
As per a report by TomsGuide, the earbuds may be a follow up for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro that were launched by the company earlier this year. The report also says that the company may unveil the next generation earbuds at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022.
LetsGoDigital suggests that the new sensors may add extra weight to the earbuds which may hamper the wearing comfort. The report also reveals that the patented Samsung Galaxy Buds feature a ‘wear detection sensor’ that can detect whenever the earbuds are being used.
Apple is also reportedly working on AirPods with various health features including posture and body temperature monitoring. Apart from this, the Airpods will also have the ability to work as a hearing aid, reads a previous report by The Wall Street Journal. The claims are based on documents in which a prototype of these earbuds is seen with temperature sensors that monitor the wearer’s core body temperature from inside the year.
The report further suggests that the temperature sensors on the in-development AirPods may work along with the sensors present in Apple Series Watch 8. The earbuds are also said to use motion sensors to monitor posture of the wearer and notify them if their body is drooping.
The AirPods with above mentioned features are not expected to be launched anytime soon as the company is reportedly gearing up to launch the AirPods Pro 2 next year.
