Galaxy S23 Ultra camera sample compared to Pixel 7 Pro in latest leak

TL;DR

  • A leaker has shared comparative camera samples of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and Pixel 7 Pro.
  • The alleged Galaxy S23 Ultra camera sample appears to show more details than the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro images.

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S23 series in early February next year. We’ve seen multiple leaks about the three phones in Samsung’s lineup, and of them, the Ultra is the most talked about device owing to its rumored 200MP primary camera. An alleged camera sample of the new sensor is now doing the rounds on the internet. The latest leak compares the photograph to images taken from the Google Pixel 7 Pro and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The comparative gallery shared by leaker Ice Universe shows zoomed-in and manually cropped pictures of a pumpkin. The leaker doesn’t mention this, but we assume the alleged Galaxy S23 Ultra camera sample comes from the main 200MP shooter.

Compared to the Pixel 7 Pro and Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Galaxy S23’s image seemingly captures more details. The pumpkin’s shape and texture are more well-defined in the S23 Ultra’s shot, while the Pixel 7 Pro and S22 Ultra seem to smoothen them out. There’s also a very apparent color difference between the images from the Samsung phones and the one from the Pixel.

That said, these camera samples are a few months early, and we can’t be sure they actually belong to the said phones, especially the S23 Ultra shot. The leaker also doesn’t have a very accurate track record, so we advise you to take this leak with a grain of salt.
