NEW DELHI: Garmin has expanded its smartwatch lineup with the launch of Gramin D2 Mach 1 in the US. The company claims that the smartwatch is designed for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. The wearable offers features like weather alerts and horizontal situation indicator (HSI) and claims to offer up to 11 days of battery backup on a single charge. The smartwatch sports an AMOLED display and comes with a heart rate sensor and GPS support.
Garmin D2 Mach 1 smartwatch with a starting price tag of $1,199.99 (roughly Rs 90,900). The wearable comes in Oxford Brown leather band and Vented Titanium bracelet variant. Both the variants come with a trial subscription to the Garmin Pilot app and are now available for purchase in the US. The company has not yet revealed the price and availability of the smartwatch in other markets.

Garmin D2 Mach 1 comes with a 1.3-inch always-on AMOLED display and is built using sapphire and titanium materials. The wearable packs 32GB of internal storage and it can be used to store music files for online playback.
The smartwatch comes equipped with GPS for better navigation. The device also allows pilots to navigate straight to an airport or waypoint in the preloaded worldwide aeronautical database. The company claims that the aviators can also use the preloaded Nearest function to activate a direct course to a nearby airport.
For a better flight experience, the smartwatch also offers features like aviation alerts like distance, altitude, time and more. Garmin D2 Mach 1 is also capable of keeping track of flights and can also predict flight time and route. Also in case of emergency, the smartwatch is designed to offer the best glide speed, estimated glide distance, and glide time.
The smartwatch comes equipped with a SpO2 monitor and heart rate sensor. The wearable can also keep track of your daily fitness activities. The smartwatch is compatible with both Android and iOS and promises to offer up to 11 days on a single charge.
