Google is finally gearing up to take on Apple, Samsung and other flagship smartphones with its upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. In order to take on the iPhone 13 series, Google has introduced its own chipset called Tensor SoC to power the Pixel 6 series of phones. Right from the design, to camera capabilities, software and AI features, Google finally feels that the new Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 can be called worthy flagship competitors. What is the new ‘camera bar’ design in Google Pixel 6 phones
Both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 look quite similar but there are subtle changes. As for the design, the front of the phones come with a centrally located punch hole display. At the back, there will be a rectangular protruding camera bar on the top part running across the entire width of the phone. The only way to differentiate between the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro is that the Pro version will have more space above the camera bar. The Pixel 6 Pro comes in a light polished aluminum frame while the Pixel 6 has a matte aluminum finish. On the front, there’s no notch on the display but the bezels appear quite thick.

What are the display specifications of Google Pixel 6 phones
The Google Pixel 6 Pro will come with a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz while the Pixel 6 will offer a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen with 90Hz refresh rate. The edges of the Pixel 6 Pro are slightly curved while it is completely flat on the Pixel 6.

What is the processor in Google Pixel 6 series phones
Google made its own SoC for powering the AI and machine learning (ML) in the upcoming Pixel 6 series phones. Dubbed as Google Tensor chipset, both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will come with it. Google did not reveal much information about the chipset or other components of the chipset. With Tensor, Google claims to have improved speech recognition with better recognition of voice commands, translation, captioning and dictation. Both the phones will support 5G.

What are the camera specifications of Google Pixel 6 phones
Google hasn’t revealed the entire hardware specifications of the phones, it said that the Pixel 6 Pro will come with three cameras that will have a telephoto lens with a 4x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Pixel 6 will skip the telephoto sensor.

Google claims that with the Tensor chipset, and Titan M2 security chip, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro “will have the most layers of hardware security in any phone.” The phones will come with in-display fingerprint scanner.

Both the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones will come in three colour options in shades of pink, black and grey. Google hasn’t revealed the official names of the colour options.

There’s no official confirmation as to whether Google will be launching the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones in India or not. Google did not launch the flagship Pixel 4 series and Pixel 5 series in India earlier. For the Indian market, Google has mostly launched affordable ‘A’ series Pixel phones like Pixel 3A and 4A.

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is expected to cost at least $1000 in the US and the pricing will most likely be in-line with the prices of the iPhone 13 models. If the devices are launched in India, then it may start at over Rs 1 lakh.
