google: Former Google execs create new Search engine that promises privacy for a fee

Some of the well-known internet search engines other than Google claim to keep your browsing activity protected from the prying eyes of cybercriminals and online mischief-mongers. A few examples are Mozilla Firefox that provides three security levels for browsing the internet and DuckDuckGo, which also claims to block trackers and keep your browsing history private. So far, these are the free search engines but how would you like to pay to a search engine to protect your online privacy? That’s where Neeva, a new search engine, comes in.
Coming to the price for your online privacy, Neeva will charge you $4.95 a month to protect your browsing from being tracked. With this monthly fee, you get access to the Neeva search engine and its Search + Protect browser extension. The first three months are free for those who complete a series of quests like the introductory tour of the search engine, connecting an app, and creating your first space.
Neeva has been created by former Google executives Sridhar Ramaswamy (ex-SVP of Ads at Google) and Vivek Raghunathan (ex-VP of Monetization at YouTube). The search engine claims that it will not sell over your profile to advertisers and will give you an ad-free browsing experience. It will keep a track of your searches but the creators claim that they are to give the user a better browsing experience by customising and improving the search results. By default, Neeva will store your online activity for 90 days.
Users can permanently turn off the tracking through settings. There is an incognito mode too.
Users may ask that by paying this much monthly fee, how are they going to be sure that their data is not being sold to someone? In the end, it is a matter of which browser you are going to trust.
