google: Google announces iOS Focus mode support for Gmail users – Times of India

Google has recently announced that iOS users will now be able to specify the Google Chats and Gmail contacts they want notifications from when their iPhone or iPad is in Focus mode. According to Google, iOS Focus mode support for Gmail users will arrive in the coming weeks.
Earlier. iPhone and iPad users running iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 were unable to customise Gmail’s behaviour in Focus mode. The change will be useful for iOS users when they need to cut screen time but don’t want to miss an important message while other notifications are muted.
This new feature will be available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers along with users with personal Google accounts.
In 2021, Apple introduced Focus mode in iOS 15 but some apps still don’t support the feature. The iOS Focus mode is more like an upgraded version of the Do Not Disturb feature.
This mode allows users to set notification, call and message filters like the Digital Wellbeing tool on Android. This tool also adds the ability to auto-reply to others when the users are not available.
Google has mentioned that there is no admin control for this feature and it will be rolled out extensively within some days.
