google: Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro smartphones get this exclusive feature – Times of India

Google recently launched its new flagship smartphones Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro that are powered by the company’s in-hours Tensor SoC. The devices run on the latest Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box and apart from this the smartphones also get few exclusive features. Rumours around the new features have been circulating since the company tipped the launch of the new devices and with the launch few of them are officially revealed. One of such features is the ‘Quick Phrases’ feature that has been in the works for quite some time now.
This new feature allows you to command your smartphone to perform certain tasks without using the ‘Hey Google’ trigger phrase. The feature can be used for various commands to answer calls, stop alarms and few other basic functions. It puts the Google Assistant on standby and whenever you receive a call, the Assistant will wait for your command to ‘Answer’ or ‘Decline’ the call. Similarly, when your alarm goes off, the Assistant waits for your command to say ‘Stop’ or ‘Snooze’. According to the report, Google Assistant will remind you when you can skip saying ‘Hey Google’ through a small popup under the heads-up notification.
The feature was spotted earlier by XDA Developers on the Pixel 3XL running Android 12 beta and Google App version 12.39.17.29. As per a previous analysis by 9to5Google, apart from the command mentioned above, users will also be able to add specific commands as per their choice. These commands will be categorised into ‘Recommended’, ‘Alarms’, ‘Connect’, ‘General Info’, ‘Lights’, ‘Media Controls’, ‘Timers’ and ‘To-Dos’. As of now, it is not clear whether the feature is limited to Pixel devices or not.
Apart from this, new Google Pixel smartphones also get the Magic Eraser feature that helps you to remove unwanted objects and people from the images in Google Photos.
