Google Home for web goes live, now view your Nest cameras on a browser
Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority
Google is finally bringing a web view to all its Nest cameras and doorbells. In a blog post published today, the company announced that it’s rolling out a new Google Home update on home.google.com that lets you view your Nest camera and doorbell feeds on the web.
Nest users will be able to check in on live views in full screen, zoom in to see more details, view camera status, and more, all from a web browser.
To access Google Home on the web, you’ll have to sign in with your Google account on the link mentioned above. Once you do that, you’ll immediately see the live streams of your Nest cameras and doorbells. You’ll also be able to toggle between single-camera and multi-camera views.
You will also be able to turn cameras on and off, wake up battery cameras if they are inactive, and view the status of your cameras from the web.
Below is a list of compatible Nest cameras and doorbells that’ll work with the web version of Google Home:
- Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Cam (wired)
- Nest Cam with floodlight (wired)
- Nest Doorbell (battery), Nest Doorbell (wired), and Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen)
- Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor
- Nest Cam IQ Indoor and Nest Cam IQ Outdoor
Google Home for web will be available as a preview for now. The company says it will continue to work on improving it and adding more popular camera features. If you don’t have access to the web version right away, you can continue to check back till next week.
