Google Nest Cam with Floodlight was introduced by the Mountain View giant earlier this month and is slated to hit stores later this month, August 24th to be precise. Now, ahead of the sale, the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight has cleared TUV Rheinland certification with the model designation: GM493, as spotted by 91mobiles. However, the certification documentation doesn’t reveal anything new about the hardware. The Google Nest Cam Floodlight is typically the same product as the Nest Cam but with two wired floodlight attachments. Google will use machine learning (ML) to automatically turn on floodlights when it detects any activity.
As mentioned earlier, the Google Nest Cam Floodlight is similar to a standard Nest Cam but is attached to a 2400 lumen floodlight. The product requires permanent power since there’s no battery option like some brands offer and feature an IP65 rating for weather resistance. Nest Cam uses the same intelligence as other cameras and is only activated when it detects a person or vehicle. This is different from standard floodlights that are triggered with any motion, which separates it from the Right Floodlight Cam Wired Pro that is turned on and records a clip for any motion it detects. Google has unveiled the product and has released a ‘how to install’ explainer video for users’ convenience.
Google Nest Cam with Floodlight price
Google Nest Cam with Floodlight is priced at $279.99 (around Rs 20,800) and will be available in White colour only, much like most Google accessories. The pricing puts it in a costly space for markets like India and we will have to wait and see if it even launches in this region. The Google Nest Cam with Floodlight is expected to hit stores in the US later this month.
