Google Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL receive their last software update

Google has released the one final update for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL with the February 2023 security patch. However, for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, the security version remains at October 2022, which should have been updated to February 2023 after the latest update. But, the two Pixels — the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL — do get treated with bug fixes.
The February 2023 update irons out the issue which caused issues with the braille keyboard, preventing them from touch interactions. The Bluetooth connectivity issue has also been fixed, which prevented some Bluetooth devices and accessories from connecting to the smartphone. Further, the problem with the Work profile where calendar information was not updated in the background has also been fixed. Note that these bug fixes have been rolled out to all the eligible Pixels, including Pixel 4 and later models.
Introduced in 2019, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were promised to receive Android updates and Pixel feature drops for three years, thus until 2022.
The two Pixel 4 models were launched with Android 10, and three years later, in 2022, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL received the last major software update – the Android 13 – in August last year. The Pixel 4 series also received its last monthly security patch last year, ending its software update with the November 2022 version.
The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are now considered to be at the End of Life (EOL) stage. Google confirmed to 9to5Google that the February 2023 update is the last update for the two Pixel 4 models.
Interestingly, Google has also rolled out the QPR1 build for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL with the December 2022 security patch. However, the catch is that the update is already available for Pixel 4 on the Privacy Sandbox. So, not everyone can get it.
