Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro US price outed in last minute leaks

TL;DR

  • A new leak has apparently outed the Google Pixel 6 series’ US price.
  • According to the tip, the Pixel 6 may start at $599, while the Pixel 6 Pro demands ~$300 more.
  • Both fees are decidedly lower than leaked European and UK pricing details.

Before Google teased the Pixel 6 series, the company cautioned that the Pro model would be “expensive,” primarily targeting enthusiasts. Now, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro prices in the US have just leaked, suggesting that they could be among the most affordable flagships launched this year.

According to Target’s pre-listed pricing spotted by YouTuber M. Brandon Lee, the base Google Pixel 6 comes in at $599. Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 6 Pro pushes up to $898. You can see both inventory pages below.

Despite Google’s warnings, these prices aren’t what we’d consider outlandishly expensive for flagships in 2021. Although it promises several upgrades, the Pixel 6 would undercut the firmly mid-range Pixel 5, which started at $699 when it launched. If its rumored pricing structure holds water, the Pixel 6 Pro will easily undercut the $999 Galaxy S21 Plus and $969 OnePlus 9 Pro. Interestingly, the leaked US prices fall well within user expectations, too. More than half of Android Authority readers indicated that they’d settle for an $800-$999 fee for the Pixel 6 Pro in a recent poll.

Google Pixel 6 US price: Is it accurate?

It’s unclear if Target’s figures are merely placeholders, but when compared to rumored pricing in Europe and the UK, they are definitely more attractive. In Europe, the Pixel 6 was spotted at €649 (~$758), while the Pro could start at €899 (~$1,050). Roland Quandt suggests the 128GB Pixel 6 Pro could land at £849 (~$1,166) in the UK, while the 256GB model may jump to £949 (~$1,303). While the pricing details are reportedly sourced from Amazon, the fees are not official.

We don’t have long to wait for pricing confirmation, though. Google will out its next flagship smartphone series on October 19.
