‘Google Pixel 6a’ mistakenly appears in coloring book
TL;DR
- A promotional coloring book sent to select Pixel Superfans contains a reference to a Google Pixel 6a.
- The Pixel 6a does not actually appear in the coloring book, but it might have at one time.
- Google has yet to confirm this smartphone exists, so this is likely an oversight by the book’s editor.
With the launch of the Pixel 6 series in October last year, the next Pixel-branded smartphone we expect to see should be an “A” variant of those phones. This is how Google’s operated for several years now, so it’s a bygone conclusion.
As per Droid-Life, select Pixel Superfans received a coloring book and a Nest Audio in the mail recently. The coloring book is filled with Google products drawn in outline form. This allows you to color in the pages and make the Google smart home setup of your wildest dreams.
On the table of contents for this book, you can see “Pixel 6a” clear as day associated with pages six and seven. However, those pages don’t show any Google smartphone, let alone the unannounced Google Pixel 6a.
You can see the table of contents page and corresponding pages below.
Google Pixel 6a: Whoops
Considering pages six and seven don’t have any smartphones on them, it’s highly likely this is all a big mistake. It’s possible the Google Pixel 6a did appear on those pages at one time but was removed since the phone is unannounced. The listing in the table of contents, then, would be a remnant from when the phone did appear inside the book.
On the other hand, it could be that an editor just put the Pixel 6a reference in there by accident. Either way, the Pixel 6a doesn’t actually appear anywhere except on the table of contents.
If you’re not a Pixel Superfan, you won’t be seeing this coloring book in your mailbox. You can still take a look at it virtually at colors.withgoogle.com if you feel like it.
