Google Pixel 6a tipped to launch on this date

A few months ago, Google launched the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. Now, the tech giant is reportedly gearing up to launch Pixel 6a smartphone in the coming months. As per a Tweet by tech analyst Jon Prosser, Google may launch the Pixel 6a smartphone on July 28. He also suggested that the company may officially announce the device at Google I/O 2022.
“Google I/O ’22 From what I understand, Google will officially be announcing the Pixel 6a + “teasing” the Pixel Watch. Pixel 6a launch (in most markets) pushed to July 28th. Pixel Watch will be formally announced and launched with Pixel 7 and 7 Pro in October.“ the tweet from Jon Prosser reads.
Rumours about the mid-range Google Pixel smartphone have been in circulation for a while now. Previous tweets from known tipset Max predicted the launch of Google Pixel 6a to be in May. As of now, Google has not confirmed any details about the rumoured smartphone. When launched, the Google Pixel 6a will join the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro in the lineup. The company also teased the device through a colouring book sent to Pixel superfans.

Google Pixel 6a is said to feature a 6.2-inch OLED display with a centered hole-punch cutout. It is also rumoured to have an under-display fingerprint reader. Under the hood, the device is said to be powered by the same Google Tensor GS101 chip as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones.
Previous leaks that the Google Pixel 6a will feature a 12.1MP Sony IMX363 sensor for the primary camera. For those who don’t know, Sony IMX363 sensor is the same primary sensor that the company installed in all Pixel devices from the Pixel 3 to Pixel 5a. The primary camera is rumoured to be supported by a 12MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone is said to sport an 8MP camera at the front.
As of now, there is no information about the Indian availability of Google Pixel 6a as other smartphones in the Pixel 6 lineup are only limited to a few markets and that doesn’t include India.
