Google Pixel 7 Pro camera samples: check out the new Super Res Zoom feature

The first set highlights the ‘World Trade Centre with images starting at 0.5x zoom from a distance and going all the way up to 30x showcasing the details of the main antenna. 30x is the largest zoom magnification that is ever offered on a Pixel device to date.

Google has shown off the Pixel 7 Pro’s Super Res Zoom feature that debuted on the flagships. The company’s Product Manager Alexander Schiffhauer has shared the image gallery showcasing the feature’s prowess. Initially, the Pixel 7 uses 2x zoom, post that Super Res Zoom technology crops the images taken by the 50MP main camera.

Zooming further, the upgraded 5x 48MP telephoto camera kicks in along with Super Res Zoom. It takes advantage of the processing power of Google’s Tensor G2 SoC for the new machine-learning autofocus algorithm. The zoom stabilisation assists in capturing detailed images at 15x, 20x, and up to 30x magnification.

Older Pixel phones to get some Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro features with the upcoming update. The Pixel 7 Pro features a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48MP telephoto lens. The vanilla Pixel 7 has 50MP primary camera and a 12MP primary camera sensor.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro Pro sport a 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 6.7-inch LTPO QHD+ display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter and up to 120Hz refresh rate. They are powered by the Tensor G2 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phones run on Android 13 OS out of the box.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have the same 11MP selfie snapper. There is a 4,700mAh battery with 30W fast charging support, while the 7 Pro has a large 30W charging speed.
