Google Pixel Watch with Wear OS 3.1 tipped to launch soon
Google is reportedly gearing up to launch its own smartwatch soon. As per known tipster Evan Blass, we may see rumoured ‘Google Pixel Watch’ running in Wear OS 3.1 soon. The first smartwatch for Google has been in the rumours for quite some time now. Although the tech giant has not revealed any details about the wearable yet, we have seen numerous reports and leaks suggesting how the device may look like. As reported earlier the codename for the first Pixel Watch project is Rohan.
According to the latest tweet by a tipster, the launch of Pixel Rohan is imminent. Although the tipster has not revealed any specific timeline for the launch, another tipster Jon Prosser last month claimed that the company may launch the device at Google I/O 2022. The annual conference is scheduled to be held on May 11-12.
If previous reports are to be believed, the upcoming Google Pixel Watch will come with a next gen Google Assistant and be powered with a Samsung Exynos chipset. The nex-gen Assistant is said to be designed to process your speech directly on your device rather than via Google’s servers. Apart from this, the smartwatch is also said to get key health and fitness tracking features such as step counter, calories counter, heart rate monitor, SpO2 measurement and others.
It is also rumoured that the company may launch the smartwatch along with Google Pixel 6a smartphone. Google Pixel 6a is said to feature a 6.2-inch OLED display with a centered hole-punch cutout. It is also rumoured to have an under-display fingerprint reader. Under the hood, the device is said to be powered by the same Google Tensor GS101 chip as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones.
As of now, there is no information about the Indian availability of Google Pixel 6a as other smartphones in the Pixel 6 lineup are only limited to a few markets and that doesn’t include India.
