Google Play Store starts rolling out ‘Offers’ tab for few users – Times of India

Google Play Store recently received the Material You redesign and now the company is reportedly adding a new “Offers” tab on the app. Although the company has not revealed anything about the new tab, it has been spotted by several users. Most users have four tabs at the bottom bar and it grows to five for users who have subscribed to the Play Pass. As per a report by 9to5Google, the default could soon be five for all the users. As per the various screenshots shared by users, the “Offers” tab is accommodated in the middle of “Apps” and “Movies & TV” tabs.
As per the report, the new tab shows “Offers for apps you might like” along with “Offers for games you might like”. Under the tab, each game and app gets a carousel of cover images that are bigger than usual. The deal and its date of expiration along with other app information can also be found under the tab. The report further reveals that the tab is quite different from the “Offers & notifications” page in the app menu.
Google has also reportedly started to test the new UI for the Play Store website. According to Android Police, few users from Korea and Taiwan have reported about the new UI. As per the report, the content on the page is more stretched out with larger icons. When you click on your profile picture in the top right corner, you can see a menu that includes links to check purchased content, Play Points and other information. One can also notice that the media gallery on app pages now has a scrollbar. The main ‘Apps’ and ‘Games’ pages also now have buttons at the top for quickly filtering between phone, tablet, TV, Chromebook, Wear OS, and car applications. It is expected that the design will be available to more users soon.
