Google pushes out Android 12 beta 4.1 to fix some bugs

TL;DR

  • Google is pushing out Android 12 beta 4.1 to Pixel phones already on the fourth beta.
  • The small update (~6MB) brings some bug fixes, but no obvious new features.
  • This release brings us closer to the inevitable stable launch of the operating system.

A few weeks ago, Google pushed out the latest beta release of Android 12. The fourth full iteration of the beta program brought over a handful of new-ish features as well as plenty of bug fixes.

Today, the company is pushing out Android 12 beta 4.1. As its name suggests, it’s a relatively minor update that simply fixes issues with the main beta launch. At just over 6MB in size, it’s clearly not a huge move forward.

So far, we haven’t seen any obvious changes to the operating system that we didn’t already see in Android 12 beta 4. As such, we’re inclined to believe this is just a final bug-squashing update as we move closer to the release candidate for Android 12 — and, eventually, the stable launch.

If you have a Pixel phone with Android 12, simply head to Settings > System > System Update to grab this new version. If you have a supported Pixel phone and want to give the latest flavor of Android a shot, we have instructions on what to do here.

We expect Google to launch Android 12 in its stable form sometime in early- to mid-September. For more information on that, click here.
