Currently, the Google Search engine features an “Add to collection” button in the top-right corner which has been around for a long time. It appears when users are opening web pages through the Google app (Search or Discover), the built-in browser (on iOS and Chrome Custom Tab for Android)
Google Search’s new mobile bookmark management system: Availability
As per the report, Google Search’s ability to save bookmarks has not been widely rolled out and currently, only appears for limited Google Accounts. Furthermore, the new bookmark system was also not available for desktop Search. The report adds that if the company rolls out this change, it will “boost the profile of Search’s direct bookmarking system.”

For reference, currently, the bookmark button appears beside the three-dot menu for “About this result” and other actions. The report mentions that tapping on the screen will reveal a bar that will mention the collection the page was “Added to” and the ability to quickly “Change” to another folder. As per the report, the marker is persistent and pages will appear/remain saved if users put in another query with the same result.
How to check the bookmarks and the importance of the new system
The report claims that the saved bookmarks can be viewed from the Collection tab on Android and iOS as well as directly from the web. Users can make as many bookmarks as they want and each of them will feature — a cover image, page title, and domain. Moreover, the report also notes that this system can also be used to save media like — movies, books and TV shows along with other handy things such as Google Maps locations.
