As per the report, Google has sent an invite for the AI event. The invitation’s image is also available online. The 40-minute event will be live-streamed on YouTube on February 8 at 8:30 am ET (6:30 pm IST), the report adds.
The event’s description on YouTube states that Google is “reimagining how people search for, explore and interact with information.” The company is planning to make this process “more natural and intuitive than ever before” to find what users need. At this event, Google will discuss “greater access to information for people everywhere, through Search, Maps and beyond”.
Google AI event: What to expect
The report doesn’t specify if Google will launch a new product or service at this event. Rumours suggest that the tech giant may introduce a platform that will compete with the Microsoft-backed OpenAI’s popular artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT.
Another report by NYT claimed that Google’s parent Alphabet has internally issued a “code red” signal after ChatGPT’s launch. The company reportedly considers ChatGPT to be an existential threat to its search business. Meanwhile, a few days ago, CNBC also reported that Google has already started testing multiple new AI tools, including a chatbot named “Apprentice Bard.”
