This will enable users to add or remove from topics which are marked by a plus icon to zoom in or backtrack on a search.
“For example, if you’re searching for “dinner ideas,” you might see topics like “healthy” or “easy.” Tapping on a topic adds it to your query, helping you quickly refine your search results with less typing. Topics are dynamic and will change as you tap, giving you more options and helping you explore new areas. For example, if you tapped on “healthy,” you might see “vegetarian” or “quick” appear next,” Google said in its blog post.
If the filters do not appear as per the search, users can browse for more filters using the ‘All filters’ option located at the end of the row.
“Both topics and filters are shown in the order that our systems automatically determine is most helpful for your specific query,” Google added.
In the upcoming days, the change will be rolling out for the users in the US on the Google app on both iOS and Android and the mobile web app.
Continuous scrolling on desktop
Earlier, the search result has shown 10 blue links, although it offers users up to 100 search results per page through Google Preferences. With Continuous Scrolling, Google has made it easier for users to view more search results by simply scrolling down the page. Users can browse up to six pages of the search results by scrolling down until the ‘more’ option appears. On the other hand, Google limits the number of continuous scrolling to four pages at a time.
