Google Workspace Individual getting massive storage upgrade, new mail merge capabilities and more – Times of India

Google Workspace Individual plan is getting a massive upgrade in storage. The company also says it is launching the premium productivity suite in more markets as well as bringing a few personalisation capabilities in the multi-send mode in web Gmail. These updates are a part of various other Google Workspace features that the company announced earlier this year.
What is Google Workspace Individual plan?
Google Workspace is a suite of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools that come with a few additional capabilities in the same set of services offered to free accounts. These additional services include custom email addresses at a domain, an option for unlimited Drive storage, additional administrative tools and advanced settings.
What’s changing with Google Workspace Individual plan?
Google Workspace Individual plan has Google Workspace-like features but is aimed at those professionals who work individually, such as authors, content creators, and artists, among others. Until now, all users got 15GB of storage but Google has now announced that soon every Google Workspace Individual account will come with 1TB of secure cloud storage. It also announced that every existing Google Workspace Individual account will be automatically upgraded from their existing 15GB of storage to 1TB.
“As you grow your business, it’s only natural that you’ll have more docs, data and digital assets to manage and store, and Google Drive allows you to do so securely from any device. You can store over 100 file types in Drive, including PDFs, CAD files and images, and you can easily collaborate on and edit Microsoft Office files without converting them. Plus, Drive comes with built-in protections against malware, spam and ransomware so you don’t need to worry about accidentally opening the door to malware just by opening a doc,” the company said in a blog post.

Google also announced that it is launching Google Workspace Individual in more markets including the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Greece and Argentina. The company launched Workspace Individual in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Australia and six countries across Europe during its debut. It is yet to come to India.
Built-in mail merge tags
Google is also introducing mail merge tags like @firstname to multi-send emails. This means that each recipient will receive an email that feels individually crafted just for them even though the sender has sent it via multi-send mode. The feature is an additional capability of the multi-send mode that allows users to easily email many recipients while maintaining their privacy.
It is a great option for sending newsletters and announcements. Additionally, multi-send emails also include an unsubscribe link by default so recipients can opt out of future messages.
