Google’s first foldable Pixel Fold launch timeline tipped
According to a display analyst Ross Young, the Google Pixel Fold is in the works and Google may launch the smartphone during Q1 2023. This means that the Google Pixel Fold could come as early as March next year. The tipster was responding to a query about the Pixel Fold, where Young says “Q1” on another user’s question about the Pixel Fold’s arrival.
Separately, in response another Twitter user’s query on if the Pixel Fold has been cancelled, Young said that last he heard was that panel shipments start in January. Previously, Young had said that the Pixel Fold could come sometime in Spring 2023 in the US.
Earlier, a report had hinted that the Pixel Fold will be launched later this year. Noted tipster Evan Blass had said back in August that the Pixel Fold with the codename Passport could be launched earlier this year. However, Google did not say anything about the Pixel Fold during its event where the brand unveiled the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
The Google Pixel Fold was also spotted in a trademark and IPO listing back in August. The filing showed a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.

Earlier this year, tipster Jon Prosser tweeted that the Google Pixel “Fold” is a real thing, which analyst Ross Young later corroborated. Last year, Young predicted that several companies would be launching new folding smartphones, and Google will be one of them.
It is not known as to what specifications the Google Pixel Fold may come with, but the smartphone is said to use Samsung-made ultra-thin glass (UTG) for the foldable panel. Google has been rumoured to be working on the Pixel Fold since the past couple of years.
