Google’s one of the ‘biggest feature’ comes with December update to Pixel phones, adds enhancements to Pixel Watch – Times of India

Every now and then, Google releases a feature drop for Pixel phones, but this time the Pixel feature update has also come in for the Pixel Watch, adding a slew of new enhancements to Google’s Pixel family. The devices getting the update also include Pixel Buds Pro, but in the coming days.
The December Pixel feature drop comes for Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, 5a 5G, Pixel 6a, 6, Pro and Pixel 7, 7 Pro.
VPN by Google One and Clear Calling arrives for Pixel 7, 7 Pro
To start with, the promised free VPN for Google’s newest Pixel phones, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, arrives with the latest feature drop.
The VPN service was already available for platinum tier subscribers of Google One, but now it will be available for free to each and every Pixel 7, 7 Pro user. However, the VPN service will not be available to Pixel 7 and 7 Pro users in India.

The second feature to arrive for the latest Pixel 7 duo is the Clear Calling, which promises to enhance the caller’s voice and reduce their background noise.
Unified security and privacy settings, powerful search

With the latest update installed, users of Pixel 4a and forward will be able to review their security and privacy settings, including risk level, accounts, and password, in one place within the Settings app. The new unified settings include action cards to notify users of any security risks, providing them with easy steps to improve their privacy and security.
Also, voice message transcription is now available for Pixel phones.
Further, the Pixel 4 and newer phones of Google get smarter search, letting users search for apps, contact, screenshot, setting, or web results.
A smarter Pixel recording app for Pixel 6 and newer

Now when you record a conversation on Pixel 6 or newer and transcribe it, the Recorder app will automatically identify and label each speaker and also inserts a line break when the speaker is changed. Once you are done with the recording, you can re-label the speakers.
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are also getting cough and snore detection, which can be accessed through the Bedtime mode within Digital Wellbeing.
Fitbit’s Sleep Profile comes to Pixel Watch
The December feature drop adds the Sleep Profile of Fitbit to the Pixel Watch, though users will need the Fitbit Premium subscription to use the feature.

The Sleep Profile depicts the user’s sleep patterns with one of six sleep animals, depending on different aspects of the sleep, which includes duration, bedtime consistency, and disruption.
New wallpapers for Pixel phones and tiles for Pixel Watch
With the feature drop arrives three new curated Culture wallpapers celebrating the International Day of People with Disabilities. And there is also a set of new Live Bloom wallpapers.
Meanwhile, the Pixel Watch gets some new tiles, including a sunrise/sunset tile that lets users plan their day. Further, users will be able to pin up to five contacts from Favorites on the watch and call them or see their contact details with a tap.
Spatial audio for Pixel Buds Pro to arrive in January 2023
The much-awaited feature of the Pixel Buds Pro, the Spatial audio, will be coming a month later, in January 2023. When connected with a Pixel phone, users will be able to use spatial audio with head tracking.
