GTA: You won’t be able to play GTA Online on these consoles from December 16 – Times of India
Rockstar Games, the maker of the popular open-world game GTA V, is going to end support for its online version ‘GTA Online’ for PS3 and Xbox 360 from December 16, 2021, the studio announced in a press release. They also specifically stated that the website stat tracking via the Rockstar Games Social Club will be closed on the same date.
Also, the company would no longer sell the Shark Cash Cards for PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online after September 15, 2021. All these announcements are for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online only; the versions of the game on the other consoles will remain unaffected.
The video game studio is busy readying Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online for the next generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The new game versions will be the “expanded and enhanced” versions of the open world adventure game.
Rockstar is also shutting down the website stat tracking, online multiplayer and leaderboards for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Max Payne 3 and the website stat tracking for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of L A Noire on September 16, 2021.
The video game studio came in news recently when it awarded a modder with $10,000 for finding a slow loading time flaw in GTA V. The modder, Github user Tostertx (player t0s), claimed to find a way to reduce the loading time by 70 percent. Rockstar has a bug bounty program that gives rewards to people for finding and reporting the flaws in its games. Apparently, Tostertx made the list and was awarded $10,000.
