It’s nearly time to watch gymnastics women’s all-around live stream at the Tokyo Olympics, which has been rocked by the withdrawal of Simone Biles.
USA Gymnastics cited mental health in the announcement Biles will also sit out the all-around competition after previously withdrawing from the women’s team final.
“We wholeheartedly support Simone’s decision and applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being,” the statement said. “Her courage shows, yet again, while she is a role model for so many.”
This ends Biles’ bid to repeat her title from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games to become the first woman to win back-to-back all-arounds in 53 years. It has not been determined if Biles will compete in any of the individual event finals next week.
The individual all-around is one of the events in the Tokyo Olympics Gymnastics competition. It features the athletes taking on all four apparatuses: floor, beam, uneven bars and the vault.
Team USA’s Sunisa Lee was already set for the all-around after qualifying in third place. Taking Biles’ place is Jade Carey, who qualified in ninth place.

How to watch Olympics Gymnastics women’s all-around live in the UK
The likely place to watch the Olympics Gymnastics women’s all-around live is the new service Discovery+, which has the rights to full coverage of the Tokyo Olympics, breaking the BBC’s previous monopoly. This year, the BBC is limited to no more than two live events at one time, whereas every single sport and every single event is available on Discovery+ or via the Eurosport channel.
The women’s all-around will take place at 12:45 p.m. BST.
