Here’s the image of Earth from space shot on an iPhone – Times of India
The image was shot from an iPhone 12 and Isaacman wrote on Twitter, “Amazing that an iPhone can take a shot like this. I really love the nosecone in the picture.”
A report by Digital Trends states that the mission commander clicked the image through the “all-glass dome built beneath the nose cone of the Crew Dragon spacecraft”. The spacecraft took four ‘civilians’ for three days in orbit.
Isaacman also shared a video that was shot on the iPhone 12. The video was over Brazil on the first day of the orbit.
This wasn’t the only Apple ‘presence’ on the space flight. Isaacman, in a reply to a Twitter user’s question about whether the flight has USB ports said that, “Yes. Pretty important. We had to charge the iPhone we used for the ultrasound device and our flight iPads which have our checklists, timeline and other reference procedures on them.”
Other images shared by Isaacman on Twitter were shot on a Nikon camera. Apple has stepped up its camera game in the last few years. The latest iPhone 13 series cameras are being hailed as one of the best around. The image shot from space gives you an idea that an ‘older’ iPhone can still do a pretty good job of clicking images.
