Here’s what Elon Musk has to say on ‘absurd’ idea of him winning US presidential elections – Times of India

Elon Musk has reacted to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev‘s prediction which said that the Twitter CEO will win the “presidential election in a number of states” in the US. The high-ranking official in the Russian government also said that digital fiat currencies issued by central banks will be used actively in 2023.
“On New Year’s Eve, everybody’s into making predictions. Many come up with futuristic hypotheses, as if competing to single out the wildest, and even the most absurd ones. Here’s our humble contribution,” Medvedev said in a tweet.

Musk to win the presidential election in US states
Medvedev said that a civil war will break out in California, and Texas and Mexico will form an allied state. He also said that after the Civil War, Elon Musk will “win the presidential election in a number of states which, after the new Civil War’s end, will have been given to the GOP.”
In response, Musk replied, “Epic Thread”. He then wrote another tweet saying, “Those are definitely the most absurd predictions I’ve ever heard, while also showing astonishing lack of awareness of the progress of artificial intelligence and sustainable energy.”

Use of digital fiat currencies to increase
Among other geopolitical predictions, Medvedev also said that countries will actively use digital fiat currencies. While the Russian official has termed the predictions hypothetical, digital fiat currencies may see increased use in the coming year.
India is already working on digital fiat currency, called central bank digital currency (CBDC), or digital rupee (e₹). The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already started a pilot for retail (CBDC), or retail digital rupee (e₹-R).
The digital rupee would be in the form of a digital token that represents legal tender. The e₹-R offers features of physical cash like trust, safety and settlement finality, RBI said.
