Here’s why Elon Musk is threatening to sue employees at Twitter – Times of India

Elon Musk has reportedly warned employees at Twitter that the company will sue those who leak confidential information to the press. The owner said that the company will seek damages from those who violate their Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Zoë Schiffer, Managing Editor of The Platformer, has shared certain parts of an email that Musk purportedly sent to Twitter employees.
Musk’s letter to employees
“As evidenced by the many detailed leaks of confidential Twitter information, a few people at our company continue to act in a manner contrary to the company’s interests and in violation of their NDA. This will be said only once: If you clearly and deliberately violate the NDA that you signed when you joined, you accept liability to the full extent of the law & Twitter will immediately seek damages,” the letter read.
Musk says occasional slip ups by employees are understandable “but breaking your word by sending detailed info to the media” with the intent to harm Twitter “will receive the response it deserves.” Employees were reportedly given a day’s time today to respond to the email.
The journalist also said she chose to post the actual email “as it’s clear Twitter is doing everything it can to catch sources.

Twitter is divided
Musk’s reported letter to his employees has sparked a mixed reaction on Twitter. While some mentioned “free speech” – something that Elon Musk has been rooting since his purchase of the company, others questioned the existence of NDAs.
“So the ‘free speech’ guy makes employees sign NDAs & is upset about transparency,” a user wrote.
“The only person who is allowed to selectively leak misleading info to fit his agenda is Elon,” another person wrote.

Meanwhile, there were some supporters of the NDA. A person claimed that in order to have a job, people have to sign these documents.
