Here’s why OnePlus 10T will not have the Alert Slider

This means the OnePlus 10T is the first global flagship OnePlus phone to say goodbye to the Alert Slider. Explaining the reason for such a move, the brand says this will help them provide the necessary space inside the device to add new features and more battery while maintaining a thin and light form factor.

Goodbye Alert Slider, hello 150W charging?

OnePlus believes that by ditching the slider, the OnePlus 10T has enough room for “high wattage charging, a large battery capacity, and better antenna signal.” Further, keeping the Alert Slider would limit the battery capacity to 4,500mAh battery as it takes up 30 mm2 of space in the motherboard, says OnePlus. This means the OnePlus 10T could come with the rumoured 4,800mAh battery.

While the company didn’t reveal the high wattage charging speed, they did say the OnePlus 10T has two charging pumps. To recall, the OnePlus 10 Pro with 80W fast charging has a single charging pump, so with two charging pumps, OnePlus could bring the 150W charging support to the OnePlus 10T, which we saw earlier with the OnePlus 10R.

The third claim for the OnePlus 10T without an Alert slider is a better antenna signal. According to OnePlus, the OnePlus 10T’s antenna system includes 15 separate antennas that will improve the network signal when holding the phone horizontally to play games.

No Hasselblad camera for OnePlus 10T

OnePlus 10T

The Alert Slider is not the only thing that the OnePlus 10T says goodbye to; the company has also decided not to ship the Hasselblad camera setup with the OnePlus 10T, as the OnePlus chief designer Hope Liu told The Verge. Liu says that OnePlus wanted to offer an ultimate performance flagship smartphone at the device’s chosen price point, which is why the OnePlus 10T will not get Hasselblad camera sensors.
