Honor releases the teaser for its first foldable phone ‘Magic V’

After Huawei and Oppo, now another Chinese smartphone brand is ready with its first foldable phone. It is Honor and the device is the ‘Magic V’ smartphone. The company has shared a teaser of its upcoming foldable smartphone, which could probably see a launch next month, as per a report by GizmoChina.

As per the leaks, the Honor Magic V could feature a 6.5-inch screen on the top when in a folded state. When unfolded, the device could have an 8-inch display, like a mini tablet screen, with a resolution of 2200 x 2480 pixels. The phone is expected to come powered with Qualcomm’s most powerful Android chipset yet — the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 — and have 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

There have also been rumours of the foldable phone sporting a 108MP camera with 9:1 pixel binning, an ultrawide camera sensor and a telephoto lens for bright and sharp snaps. On the front, the phone is expected to come with a 16MP selfie shooter. The Honor Magic V could be backed by a 4500mAh battery under the hood. We expect more details about the smartphone to emerge as it nears the launch.

Honor used to be a sub-brand of Huawei, a company that already has three foldable smartphones under its belt, but has suffered too in sales because of the US restrictions. After getting independent from Huawei, Honor has seen good sales and came in number 3 for shipping the most phones in its native market in Q3 2021 after Oppo and Vivo.
