House of the Dragon Season 2 release timeline revealed: Here’s when and where you could stream it. | Digit
The first season of House of the Dragon is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar in India and HBO Max in global regions. However, the Game of Thrones prequel series fans would have to wait a little longer for the second chapter as HBO, and HBO Max Content chairman and CEO Casey Bloys confirmed that it wouldn’t arrive next year but in 2024. The following season of House of Dragon was confirmed in August, a week after the season made its debut.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the first season took ten months to film, with post-production work still under progress when episode 1 premiered on August 22. George R.R. Martin, author, and co-creator, confirmed in an interview that Winterfell and House of Stark will be present in the second season. Earlier this month, in his blog, Martin expressed that it would take four seasons, each lasting ten episodes, to depict the Targaryen saga. However, he preferred to run 13 episodes in a season to explore the characters thoroughly.
House of the Dragon might be the first spin-off, but it’s not expected to be the last. In the Vulture interview, Bloys stated that the other products – Jon Snow series, 10,000 Ships, and 9 Voyages are “unlikely” to debut before House of the Dragon season 2, as they might have found a story Martin is happy with.
