How to file e-nomination on EPFO website before December 31 deadline

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, retirement fund body EPFO announced that it is mandatory for subscribers to file their e-nomination before the December 31 deadline. In a statement, EPFO said “It is critical for subscribers to register nominations to care for their spouse, children, and parents and to safeguard them through online PF, pension, and insurance.”

Filing e-nomination on the EPFO website helps in getting PF (provident fund), pension (EPF) and insurance (EDLI) benefits easily on member’s death. It can also help the nominee to file online claims.

Here’s how you can file e-nomination on EPFO website

Earlier PF Account holders had to fill a hard copy of Form-2 and submit to their respective PF offices but under Digital India Programme, the PF account holder can update the nomination sitting at home in just a few minutes. If you want to know how to file e-nomination on the EPFO website before the December 31 deadline, you can follow these steps.

1.

Visit EPFO website https://www.epfindia.gov.in/ >> Services>> For Employees>> Click “Member UAN/Online Services’.

2.

Login with ‘UAN and password’.

3.

Select ‘E-Nomination’ under “Manage Tab’.

4.

‘Provide Details’ tab will appear on the screen. Click ‘Save’.

5.

Click ‘Yes’ to update the family declaration.

6.

Click ‘Add family details’. ( More than one nominee can be added)

7.

Click ‘ Nomination Details’ to declare the total amount of share.

8.

Click “Save EPF Nomination’.

9.

Click ‘E-sign’ to generate OTP. Submit ‘OTP’ sent on a mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
