How to pin a conversation in Google Messages – Times of India

Over the years, Google has introduced some interesting features in its default messaging app — Google Messages for a better texting experience. Even after 30 years, SMS remains one of the most useful forms of communication. However, we often get lost in the sea of messages sitting inside the Google Messages app and struggle in finding the conversation we are looking for.
But, do you know Google offers you the ability to pin your important conversations in Google Messages so that you can access them easily whenever you want?
It is important, you note, that the app allows you to pin up to three conversations. Also, you only pin messages from your mobile device. You can view pinned messages on your mobile device and on Messages for Web.

It is quite easy to pin a conversation in the Messages app and access it later whenever you want. Just follow the below-mentioned steps to do so:

  1. Open the Messages app on your smartphone
  2. Now tap and hold the conversation you wish to pin
  3. You will now notice a pin icon on the top of your screen
  4. Just tap on the pin icon to mark your conversation.

Once done the pinned conversation will appear on top of your chat window.
You can also easily unpin the conversation whenever you want. To unpin the conversation, tap and hold the conversation and then tap Unpin.
Recently, Google marked the 30th anniversary of SMS with the introduction of end-to-end encryption for group chats in the Messages app. End-to-end encryption is presently available to Messages users who participated in the beta program recently.
“This means that all one-on-one texts sent using Messages by Google, for example, are encrypted, so they’re private and safe and can only be seen by the sender and the recipient. And now, end-to-end encryption is starting to roll out for group chats and will be available to some users in the open beta program over the coming weeks,” said Google.
