How to reset an Amazon Echo speaker using these simple steps
Smart speakers remain a niche in the Indian market. However, the Echo devices from Amazon have become the go-to choice for many who want a smart speaker. Other options like Google Nest, Apple HomePod mini are there but Amazon with its wide range of devices across price range seems to have cracked the code. A lot of it may be down to Alexa as well. Amazon’s voice-based AI assistant Alexa gets regularly updated with new skills and is perhaps the ‘smartest’ one around. One of the other benefits Alexa has is that it works with a host of third-party devices.
Setting up an Echo speaker can be a task if you are a first-time user. Likewise, if you want to reset an Echo device that too can take quite some time. However, there’s an easier way to reset an Echo speaker. Here we tell you how to reset an Echo speaker with the Alexa app.
Pre-requisites:
Alexa app on your smartphone
A connected Echo speaker (any generation)
These are the steps to follow:
Open the Alexa app on your smartphone. You will see the Devices tab in the right corner below. Tap on it
Tap on the option Echo and Alexa
Now choose the Echo device — if you have multiple ones — you want to reset
Once you select the device, you will see “Device is Registered to” next to it. Tap on “Deregister”
A pop up window will appear. Choose Deregister option
That’s it. Your Echo device is now reset.
