How to stop apps from automatically launching at startup on MacBook

Have you noticed that your Mac device takes time to boot up? And when it does you see that many applications open up which you never opened, this happens because Mac devices have some startup applications set by default. Though it can be convenient to have applications ready as soon as you open your Mac, it can also be annoying sometimes. Here is how you can stop applications from launching at startup on your Mac.

Temporarily disable startup apps
You can login into your Mac for a particular session and disable the apps from starting up at launch. This can be helpful if you are in a hurry and want to power on your Mac for a particular task. To do so enter your credentials while logging in normally but before submitting hold the shift key of the keyboard and then submit, keeping holding the shift key till you see the dock.

Hide or disable login items
Multiple startup items can also be managed at the same time. Go to System Preferences> Users & Groups> Login item. You can now manage login items of your Mac and select what you need to be launched at startup and what you do not need. You can also hide applications at startup if you want them to start but not pop up on your screen.

Disable startup applications from the dock
Right click over the app icons on the dock and hover over the options in the menu and uncheck open at login. This will disable the startup applications.
