Instagram has added the auto-generated captions feature, which can directly transcribe any video content that users watch on the app. Before getting this feature users have to enable it and the same drill goes with posting pictures and videos on Instagram.
How many languages are available under auto-generated caption feature
The auto-generated feature of Instagram is available in 17 languages — English, Hindi, French, Spanish, Arabic, Urdu, German, Russian, Thai, Italian, Japanese, Tagalog, Malay, Indonesian, Portuguese, Vietnamese and Turkish.
Here’s how users can turn captions on and off on Instagram for both iOS and Android. Users can either upload videos on Instagram with captions or watch videos with captions.
Steps for turning Instagram captions on and off
The auto-generated captions feature on Instagram is turned off by default. Follow the steps below to turn on the auto-generated captions feature:
Click on your profile in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the screen and click on Settings.
Go to Account and underneath it, tap on the captions option and then toggle the captions on.
The same steps can be followed for turning off the auto generated captions. The toggle option can be shifted back to turn off the captions.
