How to use Google Photos Locked Folder feature and hide photos

Google Photos Locked Folder feature allows one to save photos and videos in a password protected space. This enables one to hide photos and videos that they don’t want others to see. Users can create a locked folder in Google Photos and then protect them with a password.

The feature was first announced in May this year at Google I/O event 2021. It is available for Pixel owners using Pixel 3 and later models. The feature will roll out to other Android users later this year and to iOS users in early 2021.

As announced by Google, photos that are hidden in the locked folder will not appear in the Google Photos grid, memories, search, or albums. One will also not be able to find them in any other installed apps that have access to Google photos and videos.

In case you own an eligible Pixel phone and want to use the Locked Folder feature in Google Photos, then follow these steps.
