How to use the secret conversation feature in Messenger

Most people use multiple social media apps to communicate. While there are ways to text or send messages directly through these apps, now almost all of them have come up with a new feature — secret messaging.

What is this secret conversation feature?

Facebook’s secret conversations are end-to-end encrypted. Through this feature, people can converse without worrying about it being seen by someone else. Once you log in and chat through this mode, your messages are not even accessible to Facebook. Additional features include disappearing messages, which can be sent with a specific time limit, after which it will self-destruct. Facebook has also added a feature, where an individual would get notified if the other person takes a screenshot of the timed message. However, there’s one thing to note. This secret conversation will only be available on the Messenger’s mobile app and not the website.

Messenger by Facebook too has added this feature to the app across both Android and Apple iOS. Facebook Messenger app users can send secret messages by just turning on a toggle in their Android and iOS iPhone.

How to start a secret conversation on Messenger

1.

Open the Messenger App on your phone

2.

Click on the compose button on the top right corner of your app

3.

4.
