HP’s ‘mistake’ leads to macOS appearing on a Windows laptop – Times of India
The banner that claims the laptop in it to be “The Perfect Laptop” apparently has a macOS screenshot. Apparently, it is certainly a creative error where the designer used the macOS screenshot instead of Windows 11. The macOS screenshot contains the Gmail inbox in Chrome web browser with an Apple logo clearly visible at the top left corner.
The HP ad reads, “For the digital nomads and work from anywhere-but-home types (yeah, we see you), HP has perfect laptops for wherever you’re working from. Check ‘em out.
It goes without saying that it is certainly a mistake and an HP laptop that comes pre-installed with macOS operating system is an impossible thing as Apple does not liscense its desktop operating system to other OEMs. This means, no other laptop, except the one made by Apple itself can run macOS out of the box.
However, there’s an alternative — Hackintosh — which allows users to run macOS on a Windows device.
Meanwhile, these types of mistakes from OEMs aren’t new, several smartphone brands have been found using the iPhone for tweets by mistakes. For instance, Samsung once posted a tweet using iPhone similarly, Huawei once tweeted using an iPhone from its official handle.
